HYG

HYGGE – No other word in the Danish language has become as internationally celebrated as “hygge”. Hygge is all about feeling good – security, warmth, and comfort all form part of its DNA, intertwining to create an atmosphere that encourages connection and relaxation. It encompasses the simple pleasures in life and invites people to take a step back from their hectic routines to enjoy both the small and significant moments. We have designed an exclusive range in which soft lines and encircling contours create a cozy and pleasant space, perfectly embodying this philosophy. The collaboration with Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen is a testament to our commitment to enhancing your living experience, ensuring that each piece not only serves a functional purpose but also contributes to a harmonious, inclusive and inviting environment.

BIT

Bit is an aesthetically pleasing, versatile stool with countless possibilities for your home. Use Bit as a pedestal for a floral arrangement, as a side table for a lamp, or as seating for that unexpected dinner guest. The straightforward, utilitarian look contrasts with the pixelated surface made up of small bits of 100% recycled household and industrial plastic. Designed with Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen.

At its core, Bit embodies Saskia’s approach to design—turning sustainability into a positive, engaging narrative. With its playful form and vibrant materiality, it challenges traditional perceptions of recycled materials, proving that conscious design can be both joyful and functional. Rather than emphasizing scarcity or restraint, Bit tells an optimistic climate story—one where innovation, creativity, and circular thinking pave the way for a more sustainable future.

HYG

The feeling of hygge is not only linked to the visual experience of the design; it lies in the overall sensuous experience. A lot of effort has gone into sculpting the shape to provide rest and support for the human body, to make it comfortable to sit in, basically. Designed with Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen.

KIDS TREE

The Kids Tree is all about curiosity – balance, imagination, and playful exploration are rooted deep in its design. This unique piece invites children to climb, sit, and create their own stories while discovering new ways to engage with their surroundings. A wooden stool base paired with two soft foam tops offers endless possibilities for movement and creativity, whether it becomes a tree, a mountain, or a secret hideaway.

Designed to spark adventure and cooperation, it fits beautifully into kindergartens, libraries, play corners, or any place where children gather to explore. Crafted with care, it brings nature inside, nurturing a sense of wonder and encouraging the next generation to dream big.

PUFF

The Puff Lamp Collection is a modern and sculptural take on the traditional rice paper lamp, designed with organic and simple principles in mind. The design honors one of the oldest traditions within lamp making in Asia. It was also a trip to Japan that sparked the inspiration for finding the right balance between sculptural playfulness and functional minimalism and resulted in a collection that invites you to arrange different voluminous shapes in a playful matter.

BIT

JUST A LITTLE BIT – The Bit Stool is a sculptural yet functional piece that redefines sustainable seating. Designed during my time at Normann Copenhagen, I developed this concept for Simon Legald, exploring the intersection of bold aesthetics, material innovation, and versatility.

Crafted from 100% recycled plastic, Normann Copenhagne found the perfect material for the created shapes and turn it into a speckled , terrazzo-like stool, which makes each piece unique. The chunky, monolithic form is playful yet minimal, allowing it to function as a stool, side table, or sculptural object in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

With a strong emphasis on circular design, the Bit Stool embodies the potential of recycled materials in contemporary furniture, blending sustainability with timeless Scandinavian design principles.

Saskia Hübner graduated in Interdisciplinary Design from MSD, Germany, in 2016. With an open approach to design and communication, she quickly found her creative base in Copenhagen. After eight years of experience, she relocates to Aarhus in 2024.

After experiencing the position of Senior Designer at Normann Copenhagen and exploring the artistic creativity at the young startup NIKO JUNE, Saskia has established her own studio. With esteemed collaboration partners such as Aspekt Office and Anne Boysen, Saskia’s experience spans a broad spectrum of design, ranging from furniture, lighting to object and interior design.

Saskia’s work stems from an interest in societal behavior, combining simple expression with functional storytelling. She aims to create work that serves a purpose while believing in the value of art objects in contemporary society. Alongside her own practice, she remains open to collaborations in design, interior, and interdisciplinary projects.

In 2024 she founded FORM 22 , climate communication design. Here she is following a mission of creating a positive space through engaging, thought-provoking design objects.

2025 marks a major milestone in Saskia’s career. She joins the Danish TV program “Danmarks næste Klassiker” (Denmark’s Next Design Classic) as the first foreign designer to compete. Combining her German heritage with Danish design culture, she brings a unique perspective—pushing boundaries and placing a strong focus on climate communication through design. The program airs live from February 18, 2025.

With exciting collaborations in motion, Saskia looks forward to expanding her creative practice and exploring new partnerships in design, art, and climate communication. Having recently moved into a tiny house, climate is not just a theme in her work—it’s a lived experience. This new chapter reinforces her commitment to conscious design, where materials, spaces, and storytelling come together to shape meaningful dialogue. As 2025 unfolds, she remains open to new opportunities, collaborations, and challenges that push the boundaries of design with purpose.

GLYPTO

The Glypto Table is a quiet centerpiece – both grounded and graceful, designed to bring people together without demanding attention. Its sculptural tabletop draws inspiration from the soft folds of a tablecloth, evoking the feeling of a festive gathering. Subtle wave-like contours add both structure and invitation, encouraging closeness and interaction.

The design balances presence with restraint. With six gently defined edges, the table naturally accommodates small groups, offering space for conversation, drinks, and shared moments. Though visually bold, especially in deep black, its form is considerate – offering stability and elegance without overpowering its setting.

Originally created for the Glyptotek in Copenhagen, the table needed to support a variety of uses across the museum’s 25,000 sqm – from events in classical galleries to gatherings in lush gardens. Its modular construction allows up to 20 tables to be stored in just 1.5 sqm, marrying function with finesse.

At its core, the Glypto Table serves as a calm stage – a reliable podium where people can gather, feel at ease, and let the space around them shine.

WAITING

Waiting furniture Main Station Copenhagen– A modular waiting experience designed with Copenhagen Central Station in mind. The station, a hub of constant movement, inspired this piece to reflect the dynamic energy of its surroundings. The goal was to create a design that accommodates different ways of waiting—whether standing, taking a brief rest, or sitting for longer periods.

The modular structure offers flexibility, with an airy, open design that allows for smooth movement without disrupting the flow of the space. Curves in the design are drawn from the station’s bow-shaped architecture, ensuring the furniture fits naturally within its environment.

Color was a key element in achieving harmony with the station’s atmosphere. While some decisions had to be made quickly, the final color choice complements the space, offering warmth and vibrancy. The design balances both comfort and functionality, supporting travelers in various ways.

TIVOLI

The Tivoli Lamp is a tribute to enchantment — a sculptural light object inspired by the magic of Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens. Designed for one of the world’s most iconic public spaces, the lamp blends organic form, playful reflection, and contemporary technology to create a lighting piece that exists in dialogue with its environment.

Evoking the shapes of plant life and the shimmer of water, the lamp is as much scenography as it is design. Its mirrored aluminum surface reflects the world around it — visitors, trees, architecture, and movement — capturing fleeting moments in its polished skin. By day it shimmers quietly; by night it glows, casting shadows that invite imagination.

Its versatility is intentional: the lamp can hover from tree branches like a glowing cloud or rest gently on the ground to illuminate flower beds. Built in weather-resistant aluminum, it is durable and prepared for the elements. Raindrops cascade off its surface — sometimes forming a miniature waterfall — further connecting it to nature.

Produced using innovative 3D-printed metal techniques in collaboration with DTU and Teknologisk Institut, the lamp merges traditional craftsmanship with modern material possibilities. It’s a step into future-facing production, while still rooted in poetic storytelling.

For Tivoli, where fantasy meets the real world, this lamp becomes more than illumination — it becomes part of the landscape’s magic.i.

MESTERVÆRK

The red sofa, the master piece winner of Danmarks næste klassiker — it’s a statement. A piece shaped by stories of reuse, collaboration, and bold climate communication, it brings together design integrity with a clear environmental purpose.

Crafted almost entirely from recycled materials, the sofa reimagines what sustainable furniture can be. Former office desktops form the structure, while leftover padding from carpet production and Re-Wool fabric made from recycled wool complete the build. Every component carries a trace of its former life — no compromise on quality, but a conscious shift in narrative.

The design draws from Bauhaus principles: functional clarity, reduced form, and honest materials. But it also takes a leap — choosing a vibrant red tone to challenge the visual language of sustainability. This isn’t beige or understated. It’s direct, vivid, and meant to start conversations.

Developed in collaboration with Holmris B8 and their Recrafted initiative, the sofa embodies a real-world commitment to circular design. It’s not a prototype for the shelf — it’s a scalable solution, built with the ambition of changing how the furniture industry sources, produces, and rethinks waste.

More than just a “masterpiece,” the sofa became a personal milestone. A design anchored in climate communication, it reflects the journey of turning concern into action — and action into a tangible object that invites pause, dialogue, and change.

Ticket

The Ticket mirror gets its industrial and modern look from hole perforations around the mirror’s steel frame. A brass detail elegantly covers the mounting hook. The initial idea for the Ticket mirror’s punctured design comes from the original entry tickets in paper that you had to hand over to the usher before entering the Tivoli Gardens. BAU 22

A sofa with a story — and the winner of the Mesterværk category in Danmarks næste Klassiker.

This piece was designed as my final challenge on national television — a project meant to reflect not only my values as a designer, but also my vision for what furniture can be in a changing world. To win this category was an immense honor, especially with a design that carries such a personal and professional message.

Crafted almost entirely from recycled materials, the sofa is built on old tabletops, uses leftover padding from carpet production, and is upholstered in Re-Wool — a fabric made from recycled wool. It’s a design rooted in circular thinking, without compromising on quality or presence.

The form is bold, with a Bauhaus-inspired clarity. The red color choice was intentional: a statement that sustainability doesn’t have to hide behind neutral tones. This sofa has a voice. It invites conversation — not only through its design, but through the stories embedded in each component.

Winning the final challenge with this sofa felt like closing a circle. A project that began with questions about climate communication, personal identity, and material responsibility ended with a design that speaks to all three — and invites others to join the dialogue.
